NAIA District 21 Men's Basketball

NAIA District 21 consisted, until the end of the district qualification era, of NAIA schools in Indiana.

When the NAIA split into divisions in 1992, the district split, and teams participated in both divisions.

Primary sources for information on this district include the Madison Courier, the Warsaw Times-Union, the Fort Wayne Journal-Gazette, and the Post-Tribune of Northwest Indiana.

Formats

1951-62: Four-team playoff:

1968-77(at least): Seven-team format with three teams placed directly into the semifinals. The other four teams played off to determine the fourth team.

1982; 1985-92(Division II only in 1992): 12-team format with top 4 seeds receiving byes to the quarterfinals.

1992(Division I Only): six-team format.
