The Buffalo State College Bengals compete in NCAA Division III basketball as members of the State University of New York Athletic Conference, and in football as members of the New Jersey Athletic Conference. Buffalo State is a public institution located in Buffalo, New York. Although part of the State University of New York System, it should not be confused with the University at Buffalo, State University of New York, which is the school commonly referred to as simply "Buffalo." The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 9,000.
