The State University of New York at Plattsburgh, or Plattsburgh State, Cardinals compete as members of the State University of New York Athletic Conference in NCAA Division III basketball. The school does not sponsor football. Plattsburgh State is a public institution located in Plattsburgh, New York, about two-and-a-half hours north of Albany, and about an hour south of Montreal. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 6,000.
