The Southern Virginia University Knights compete in NCAA Division III as members of the New Jersey Athletic Conference for football, and the Capital Athletic Conference for basketball.. Southern Virginia is a private Latter-Day Saints institution located in Buena Vista, Virgina, about an hour northeast of Roanoke. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 1,000.
