NCAA Division II officially came into being in 1973; however, it was the primary continuation of the former NCAA College Division. Schools listed in this category either:

  • Were official members of NCAA Division II at some point since 1973 but no longer are, or
  • Were never officially Division II members, but were previously NCAA College Division members prior to 1973, and were not members of conferences comprised predominantly of later Division III schools.
