The "Stephen F. Austin State University', generally referred to as Stephen F. Austin or SFA, Lumberjacks compete as members of the Southland Conference in NCAA Division I FCS football and in NCAA Division I basketball. Stephen F. Austin is a public institution located in Nacogdoches, Texas, in the Piney Woods area of East Texas, midway between Houston and Texarkana. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 11,000.
