The Dixie State College Rebels compete in NCAA Division II basketball as members of the Pacific West Conference, and in football as independents. The school's football program will begin competing in the reformed football section of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference in 2008. Dixie State is a public institution located in Saint George, Utah, in the far southwest corner of the state, two hours northeast of Las Vegas, Nevada. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 9,000.
