The Western Oregon University Wolves compete as members of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference in NCAA Division II football and basketball. Western Oregon, formerly known as "Oregon Normal", "Oregon College of Education", and "Western Oregon State", is a public institution located in Monmouth, Oregon, midway between Portland and Eugene. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 4,000.
