The Texas College Steers compete in NAIA Division I as members of the Red River Athletic Conference in basketball, and in NAIA football as members of the Central States Football League. Texas College, a historically black college, is a private Episcopal institution located in Tyler, Texas, about two hours east of Dallas. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 1,000.
