The Saint Catherine University Wildcats compete as members of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in NCAA Division III basketball. As a women's college, the school does not sponsor football or men's basketball. Saint Catherine is a private Catholic (Carondelet) women's-only institution located in the capital city of Saint Paul, Minnesota. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 5,000.

The picturesque campus is contained within a giant square in Saint Paul's Highland Park neighborhood. The school is bordered by Cleveland, Fairview, Randolph, and Scheffer Avenues. Butler Center (500) is located in the middle of the hilly campus.

As a women-only college, the Wildcats' main rival is with the only other women-only school in the MIAC, Saint Benedict's. There's also a rivalry with Saint Thomas (MN). It was only in 1977 when Saint Thomas went coed, but students from Saint Catherine were allowed to take classes there for years.

As you would expect, there are no alumni in the NFL or NBA ranks.
