The Gustavus Adolphus College Gusties compete as members of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in NCAA Division III football and basketball. Gustavus Adolphus is a private Lutheran institution located in Saint Peter, Minnesota, about an hour southwest of Minneapolis. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 3,000.
Gustavus Adolphus' campus lies to the west of downtown Saint Peter. The nearest major highway is US 169.
The Gusties main rival, like it is for most of the MIAC is Saint John's (MN). In hockey, especially during its NAIA days, Bemidji State would play the part of antagonist.
Just nine former Gusties have NFL experience, the last being WR Ryan Hoag, 2003s Mr. Irrelevant. Conversely, no one from the basketball team has played in the NBA.
