The Lees-McRae College Bobcats compete as members of the Conference Carolinas in NCAA Division II basketball. The school does not sponsor football. Lees-McRae is a private Presbyterian institution located high in the Appalachian Mountains in Banner Elk, North Carolina, about an hour northeast of Asheville. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 1,000.
