The Converse College Valkyries women compete as members of the Conference Carolinas in NCAA Division II basketball. Converse is a private non-sectarian women's institution located in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 1,000. The team's nickname was previously the "All-Stars", but was changed prior to the 2007 season.
