The Georgia Southwestern State University, generally referred to as simply Georgia Southwestern, Hurricanes compete as members of the Peach Belt Conference in NCAA Division II basketball. The school does not sponsor football. Georgia Southwestern is a public institution located in Americus, Georgia, about two hours south of Atlanta. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 2,000.
