The Miles College Golden Bears compete as members of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in NCAA Division II football and basketball. Miles, a historically black college, is a private Methodist institution located in Fairfield, Alabama, a western suburb of Birmingham. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 2,000.
