The Albany State University Golden Rams compete as members of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in NCAA Division II football and basketball. Albany State, a historically black college, is a public institution located in Albany, Georgia, about two hours south of Macon. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 3,000.
