Carleton

The Carleton College Knights compete as members of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in NCAA Division III football and basketball. Carleton is a private non-sectarian institution located in Northfield, Minnesota, about a half-hour south of Minneapolis. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 2,000.
Carleton is Northfield's "East" college, the bucolic campus located at the corner of 1st Street and Division Street(also known as Minnesota Highway Route 19). The Cannon River runs through its east side.
To Knights fans, only one rival matters, and that is Saint Olaf, a mile to the west. These two are rivals in all sports, but to call it a rivalry means doing so in name only, as the Oles have been dominant. The football teams played the only NCAA-sanctioned metric game in 1977(which the Oles won). Currently, the two battle for the Book of Knowledge.
Inspite of its reputation as a nerdy school, the Knights do have some professional sports alumni in their ranks. The football team counts 3 former NFL players amongst its ranks, all of them before World War II. The basketball team, however, has no NBA alumns.
