The Doane College Tigers compete in NAIA Division II basketball and football as members of the Great Plains Athletic Conference, as well as competing as NCAA Division III Independents in basketball. Doane is a private Church of Christ institution located in Crete, Nebraska, about 20 minutes southwest of Lincoln. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 3,000.
