The Finlandia University Lions compete in NCAA Division III basketball as independents. The school does not sponsor football. Finlandia, previously known as Suomi College, is a private Lutheran institution located in Hancock, Michigan, deep in the Upper Peninsula about six hours north of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 500.
