The Dakota Wesleyan University Tigers compete as members of the Great Plains Athletic Conference in NAIA football and NAIA Division II basketball. Dakota Wesleyan is a private Methodist institution located in Mitchell, South Dakota, about an hour west of Sioux Falls. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 1,000.
