The Lake Superior State University Lakers compete as members of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in NCAA Division II basketball. The school has not sponsored football since 1950. Lake Superior State is a public institution located on the Canadian border in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 3,000.
