The Columbus State University Cougars compete as members of the Peach Belt Conference in NCAA Division II basketball. The school does not sponsor football. Columbus State, formerly "Columbus College", is a public institution located in Columbus, Georgia, about 90 minutes southwest of Atlanta. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 7,000.
