The Elizabeth City State University Vikings compete as members of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association in NCAA Division II football and basketball. Elizabeth City State, a historically black college, is a public institution located in the Inner Banks off Albemarle Sound in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, about an hour south of Norfolk, Virginia. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 3,000.
