The Green Mountain College Eagles compete in NCAA Division III basketball as independents. The school does not sponsor football. Effective with the 2008 season, the school's teams will join the North Atlantic Conference. Green Mountain is a private Methodist institution located in Poultney, Vermont, on the New York border about an hour north of Albany. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 1,000.
