The Southwestern Assemblies of God University Lions compete in NAIA Division I as members of the Sooner Athletic Conference in basketball, and in NAIA football as members of the Central States Football League. Southwestern Assemblies of God, formerly "Southwestern Bible Institute", is a private Assemblies of God institution located in Waxahachie, Texas, about 45 minutes southwest of Dallas. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 2,000.
