The Adelphi University Panthers compete as members of the East Coast Conference in NCAA Division II basketball. The school does not sponsor football, and its basketball programs will move to the Northeast Ten Conference in 2009. Adelphi is a private non-sectarian institution located in Garden City, New York, on Long Island about a half hour east of Manhattan. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 4,000.
