The University of Central Arkansas Bears (Sugar Bears for the women's teams) compete as members of the Southland Conference in NCAA Division I FCS football and in NCAA Division I basketball. Central Arkansas, formerly known as "Arkansas Teachers" and "State College of Arkansas", is a public institution located in Conway, Arkansas, about a half-hour northwest of Little Rock. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 12,000.
