The Sul Ross State University Lobos compete as members of the American Southwest Conference in NCAA Division III football and basketball. Sul Ross State is a public institution located in the town of Alpine, Texas, deep in the Big Bend area around four hours southeast of El Paso. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 2,000.
