The Bluefield College Rams compete in NAIA Division I as members of the Appalachian Athletic Conference in basketball, and in NAIA football as members of the Mid-South Conference. In 2012, the school reinstated its football program, which had been dormant since World War II. Bluefield is a private Baptist institution located in Bluefield, Virginia, about two hours west of Roanoke. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 1,000.
