The following conference realignments took place during the summer preceding the 1943-1944 academic year:

Football

School Left Joined
Creighton Missouri Valley Conference dropped football
Washington (MO) Missouri Valley Conference suspended football, did not return to conference

Note: All instances listed here are permanent changes. Instances where a school suspended a sport and reinstated it post-war without changing conferences are completely ignored here.
