The Lyndon State College Hornets compete in NCAA Division III basketball as independents. The school does not sponsor football. Effective with the 2008 season, the school's teams will join the North Atlantic Conference. Lyndon State is a public institution located in Lyndonville, Vermont, near the Canadian border about a half-hour northeast of Montpelier. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 1,000.
