The Southern Vermont College Mountaineers compete in NCAA Division III basketball as independents. The school does not sponsor football. Southern Vermont is a private non-sectarian institution located in Bennington, Vermont, about a half-hour northeast of Albany, New York. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 500.
