The University of Nebraska at Kearney Lopers compete as members of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference in NCAA Division II football and basketball. In 2012, the school will leave the RMAC to join the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association. Nebraska-Kearney, formerly "Kearney State", is a public institution located in Kearney, Nebraska, in the south-central part of the state about 2 hours west of Lincoln. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 5,000.
