The Spalding University Golden Eagles compete as independents in NCAA Division III basketball. Spalding is a private Catholic (Sisters of the Nazarene) institution located in Louisville, Kentucky. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 1,000. The school's teams were known as the "Pelicans" until 2008.
