The Oklahoma Panhandle State University, or OPSU, Cowboys (Cowgirls for the women's teams) complete in NCAA Division II football as independents and in basketball as members of the Heartland Conference. OPSU is a public institution located in Goodwell, Oklahoma, in the center of the panhandle. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 2,000.
