The State University of New York at Potsdam, or Potsdam State, Bears compete as members of the State University of New York Athletic Conference in NCAA Division III basketball. The school does not sponsor football. Potsdam State is a public institution located in Potsdam, New York, about three hours northeast of Syracuse, and 90 minutes southeast of Ottawa, Ontario. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 4,000.
