The Saint Joseph's College Pumas compete in NCAA Division II football as members of the Great Lakes Football Conference and in basketball as members of the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The football team will also join the GLVC in 2012 when the conference begins sponsoring football. Saint Joseph's is a private Catholic (Precious Blood) institution located in Rensselaer, Indiana, about 90 minutes north-northeast of Indianapolis. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 1,000.
