The Concord University Mountain Lions compete as members of the Mountain East Conference in NCAA Division II football and basketball. Concord, formerly "Concord State", is a public institution located in Athens, West Virginia, near Bluefield in the southern end of the state, about two hours south of Charleston. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 3,000.
