Silicon Valley Football Classic
From Varsity Pride
The Silicon Valley Football Classic was a bowl game held at Spartan Stadium in San Jose, California from 2000-2004.
The host team for the bowl was the Western Athletic Conference. The final year of the bowl saw complete and utter disaster strike the organizers, as not only was the WAC unable to provide a team for the bowl, but neither was the Pac-10, who had taken over the opponent slot the year before. Further, weather and technical problems made the game itself a shambles. Between attendance issues (partially caused by Fresno State's repeated appearances, perhaps) and the problems faced in the 2004 game, the bowl was decertified by the NCAA.
