Scripps College, in conjunction with Harvey Mudd College and Claremont McKenna College since 1976, competes as the Athenas compete as members of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in NCAA Division III basketball. Although C-M-S competes in men's basketball and football, as a women's college Scripps itself does not contribute athletes to those programs. Scripps, a member of the Claremont Colleges, is a private non-sectarian women-only institution located in Claremont, California, about a half-hour east of Los Angeles. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 1,000.
