The Northeastern Illinois University Golden Eagles no longer compete in collegiate athletics. The school ceased sponsoring football in 1988, and basketball in 1998. Northeastern Illinois is a public institution located in the North Park area of Chicago, Illinois. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 11,000.
