Motor City Bowl
From Varsity Pride
The Quick Lane Bowl is a bowl game held in Detroit, Michigan since 1997. The original site was the Pontiac Silverdome until Ford Field opened in 2002. The game was known as the Motor City Bowl until 2009, and then the Little Caesar's Pizza Bowl from 2010-2013.
Originally, the Mid-American Conference sent a host representative (usually the conference champion, although the champion was not obligated to accept this bid). The opponent, since 2007, has been slated to be a team from the Big Ten Conference, and if no eligible team is available, from the Sun Belt Conference. The host assignment has now shifted to the Big 10, while the Atlantic Coast Conference visits.
