The Lawrence Technological University Blue Devils compete as members of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference in NAIA Division II basketball. The school does not sponsor football. The university had dropped football in the 1940's and men's basketball in the 1960's, but have since reinstated their intercollegiate athletics program, including basketball. Lawrence Tech is a private non-sectarian institution located in Southfield, Michigan, a western suburb of Detroit. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 4,000.
The campus is located at the intersection of W 10 Mile Road and the southbound frontage road for M-10 (John C Lodge Freeway), just south of M-10's interchange with I-696.
One Lawrence Tech alumnus has played in the NBA: Blaine Denning, who saw action in a single game with the Baltimore Bullets in 1953.
