The King's College sponsors men's and women's basketball in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association. The school went bankrupt in 1994, forcing the administration to suspend the athletic program, but as of 2012, various club teams are being upgraded to varsity status once again. Their teams were nicknamed the Purple Knights, but are now known as the Lions. The King's College is a private non-demoninational Christian institution located in the Empire State Building in midtown Manhattan, New York, New York. Prior to the bankruptcy, the campus was located in Briarcliff Manor, New York. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 500.
