The Houghton College Highlanders compete as members of the Empire 8 Conference in NCAA Division III basketball. The school does not sponsor football. Houghton is a private Wesleyan institution located in Houghton, New York, about 90 minutes southeast of Buffalo. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 1,000.
