Nathaniel Hawthorne College Highlanders ceased operations in 1988 when the school closed due to financial problems. At the time, the school was competing in NAIA basketball as an independent. The school did not sponsor football. Hawthorne was a private non-sectarian institution located in Antrim, New Hampshire.
