Chancellor University, under its former guises of Dyke College and Myers University, competed in basketball as members of NAIA Division II. Dyke participated in basketball until the mid-1990s before shutting down the program. As Myers, the school reinstated basketball in 2006 under the nickname "Mustangs", only to halt the program two years later. Other names by which the school was known prior to World War II include Folsom's Mercantile College, Union Business College, and Spencerian College.

Chancellor was a non-sectarian, for-profit institution located in Cleveland, Ohio. It closed on August 25th, 2013, just as the college's accreditation was to expire in October.
