The Brenau University Golden Tigers compete as members of the Southern States Athletic Conference in NAIA Division I basketball. As a women's college, the school does not sponsor football or men's basketball. Brenau, formerly known as "Georgia Baptist Female Seminary", is a private women-only Baptist institution located in Gainesville, Georgia, about an hour northeast of Atlanta. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 1,000.
