The Alliance College Bobcats ceased operations in 1987 when the school closed due to financial problems. At the time, the school was competing in NAIA basketball as an independent. The school did not sponsor football. Alliance was an interesting private non-sectarian institution; it was founded by the Polish National Alliance primarily to provide opportunities for students of Polish descent, and at one time had the nation's most-renowned program in Slavic languages. The school was located in Cambridge Springs, Pennsylvania, in the northwest corner of the state.
