The University of Alaska-Southeast Whales discontinued their athletics programs in 1990. At the time, the school competed in NAIA basketball. It had never fielded a football team. Alaska-Southeast, formerly Alaska-Juneau, is a public institution located in the capital city of Juneau, Alaska. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 3,000.
